On to the New Year....

Well, Christmas has come and gone. I have to say it certainly was not what I expected! Both my dad and my husband had pneumonia. So, everything was relatively low key. Hubby and I were on our own for Xmas, and we went up to my parents on Boxing Day for a couple of days, which is always relaxing. My mother-in-law was sweet enough to ensure that we did indeed, have xmas dinner on xmas by dropping off some turkey (!!!!!!) and xmas goodies.

I have to say though, it just was not the same without my mom's veggie stuffing and veggie gravy. My mom is probably one of the few mom's who actually makes veggie xmas sides for their veggie kids:)

I think everyone enjoyed the gifts they received, which is always nice. My favourite gift was 2 vegan cookbooks my mom got me from the
How it All Vegan series. I have been wanting them forever, and keep taking them from the library. Now I have my very own copies:) I just need to get the first one (How it All Vegan) and then I have the whole series. (Yes people, this is a birthday hint!!!!! LOL)

Back to work on Tuesday, but in the meantime, I have some lunch dates with friends, New Year's and nursing my hubby back to health.

Countdown to Christmas...

Hi all:) I have had quite a few emails to update my blog, so I am attempting to post some interesting things!

I just got back from a wonderful visit with my folks. I helped my mom get the house decorated and set up the tree. I really had a lot of fun. I don't get to spend a lot of time on my own with my parents, so it was very cherished time.

The 2 main men in my life are really sick! My poor dad had pneumonia, and my dear hubby has a really bad case of the flu (although I think it is bronchitis, and I am kicking his butt to the doctor tomorrow!).

I also just want to say how thankful I am at this time of year for my friends. There is one in particular who I am really appreciating right now. She was sweet enough to bring my hubby some medicine and ice cream while I was away. I felt so helpless not being there for him, and her genuine kindness made me feel so much better. She is truly one of a kind. THanks Rachel!

T'was the week before Xmas break...

This week has been one crazy week. I don't think I have ever been as overwhelmed at my job as I was this week. My partner-in-crime Julia and I finished off the Christmas hampers for our needy families, I co-directed the dress rehearsal for our school play, and made school lunches on Friday as our lunch lady was sick. All that and tried to keep up with my "regular" (whatever that is) job as well. Whew!

The things that got me through this week were:

-A good bottle of white wine:)
-Hugs from my hubby
-A wonderful greek dinner out with my in-laws
-A Charlie Brown Christmas was on this week!!!!

For me, I don't feel Christmas-y until I have seen Charlie Brown. Dusten and I laughed out loud while watching it. I don't see how anyone can watch it, and not smile. I even came across a cool link to see what Charlie Brown character a person is. Guess who I am? LOL:)

Scary Meat!!!!

So Safeway has just recalled all ground beef purchased in their stores in the month of Ocober. How does that not turn off people from eating meat? I just don't get it! Chicken with the Avian Flu, Mad Cow, Ecoli poisoning.......People are being poisoned and ending up in the hospital, and others keep blindly eating it. Meat for the masses.

Here is my new favourite cartoon....

Out of Touch...

Hey everyone! After being offline for 10 days due to a computer crash (glad you missed me Danea!) I am back. However, I have lost all my email addresses, which is a pain in the butt. If I normally email you, can you send me your email address? Thanks everyone. It's good to be back!
