1/2 Way Point.....

Well we have officially reached the 1/2 way point in my pregnancy. I am doing well, and am finally starting to show. The cute maternity pants that I have bought from old navy are still a bit big, but there is no squeezing my tummy into my old clothes.

My appetite is constant, and I find I am snacking all day long. I am trying to get healthy foods in as much as I can..I am missing the fresh fruit and veggie selection we had in the summer. I am eating way too many carbs and sugary treats for sure.

Dusten has been taking good care of me. He has been cooking me yummy dinners and keeping me in good spirits when I get cranky and tired. He is even learning the art of a good foot massage:)

We went for our ultrasound a couple weeks ago, and it was so cool! Our little one was grabbing his/her feet and opening and closing his/her mouth. We were able to see all 4 chambers of the heart beating. I wished I could have watched him/her all day long. You will notice I am saying him/her, as we were not able to find out the sex of our little one. We are hoping to go to UC baby in the new year to have a 4D ultrasound done. You get to watch your baby for 30 minutes, find out the sex, and get great pictures. If anyone is looking for a birthday idea for me in the New Year, yes I am dropping a HUGE HINT!!!!!!!!

Here is the ultrasound of our baby at 18 weeks.....Dusten insists he/she looks like a Mexican wrestler, and has nicknamed him/her "El Diablo"......

18 Weeks!!!!!

pregnancy

Well I am past the 18 week mark, and all is well:) I had the results of my triple screen test yesterday, and our baby is healthy. Got to listen to the heartbeat again, and it was nice and strong. We are are excited about Monday, as we are going for a detailed ultrasound, and we may be able to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.

We want to do the room in a forest theme, so if we are having a boy, we will have lots of woodland animals....

and if we are having a girl, I thought it would be cool to have a woodland fairy theme.

Dusten is going to paint a mural, and fingers crossed, maybe Auntie Danea will be here to help him. I think that would be a nice legacy/memory if it worked out for her niece/nephew.

16 weeks!

pregnancy week by week

I can't believe I am 16 weeks pregnant today:) I wore my first pair of maternity pants to work today, but I must admit they were still big and I was hiking them up all day long. I kind of just wanted to mark the milestone somehow...

My cravings right now include cold mandarin oranges, blueberry waffles and starburst candy. I was drinking a lot of chocolate milk, but that craving seems to be disappearing.

There are times when I don't even feel pregnant, especially because I don't really look it, and most of my pregnancy symptoms have pretty much disappeared. It is nice not to spend most of my day throwing up in the bathroom!

I find I am very cold most of the time, and usually end up falling asleep at night on the couch by the fire. I don't think Dusten is too happy about that one, but it is the only place I feel completely warm.

I had a very cool experience tonight. I felt the baby kick and move for the first time! I had felt flutterings before, but today it was like popcorn......it was such an incredible feeling....
